To stay competitive, Singapore must remain relevant to the rest of the world, by adding value to the global economy, strengthening its capabilities as a manufacturing center for MNCs and as a regional services and information hub. It must upgrade its economy to one that is driven by knowledge-intensive industries amidst an environment that is teeming with innovative ideas if it will to succeed in its vision to build a knowledge-based economy.
