Among some Yurok tribes the strengthening of the \Vorld is accomplished by ritually rebuild­ ing the steam cabin, a rite that is cosmogenic in structure and of which other examples will be given later. The es­ sential part of the ceremonial consists in long pilgrimages undertaken by the priest to all the sacred sites, that is, to the places where the Immortals performed certain acts.

The renewal consisted in a cult scenario the chief rite of which symbolized the reiteration of the cosmogony.
