And your dog won’t learn properly or be willing to heed your commands unless you use effective training methods. In this part, we describe how to prepare yourself, the human part of the equation, for training: how to choose the right approach, how to adapt your methods to your particular dog, and how to establish yourself as pack leader. If your dog is still a puppy, we explain what a puppy goes through to help you understand what he needs both physically and emotionally.

While playing, tempers may flare because one puppy bites another one too hard.
