A founding member of the Revue de métaphysique et de morale (1893) and the Société française de philosophie (1901), Brunschvicg participated in the session devoted to Gilson’s thesis on Descartes (Gilson 1914). Brunschvicg also suggested that Gilson prepare his edition of Descartes’s Discours de la méthode. See Gilson 1924e, 135.
